Our Services
BRACKET Energy, with skilled and experienced team of experts certified by Natural Resources Canada have done more than 2,970 successful home evaluation and strives to help you save energy, reduce renovation and operational costs, and enhance the value of your building.
To achieve this goal, after pre-qualified by free initial assessment, we first conduct an on-site inspection of your building, assessing and measuring the building envelope components and installed HVAC systems. We also perform pressure and air leakage tests on the building. By modeling the building envelope and installed HVAC systems, we carry out the necessary analyses and determine your building’s energy consumption rating. Following this, we issue an energy label for your building and provide recommendations for reducing energy consumption and air leakage for residential new construction or retrofit projects in Alberta. If the homeowner has purchased the house within the last two years and wishes to 25% partial refund of the mortgage insurance costs, we can prepare and submit a report to the mortgage provider upon request.
Additionally, if the homeowner intends to apply for a loan or rebate for home renovations, we provide guidance on the process. After the renovations, a follow-up assessment is conducted, a new energy label is issued, and the necessary reports are prepared and submitted to the relevant loan or rebate provider and the homeowner.

Solar

Residential Solar Panels
Solar products for homes give you control over your home’s energy. During the daytime, your solar panels generate electricity that powers your home. Any excess energy is sold back to the grid. When the sun sets or on cloudy days, your system will automatically switch to drawing energy from the grid or stored battery power. Home solar panels work seamlessly, ensuring a smooth transition between power sources without any disruption to your daily routine.

Commercial Solar Panels
Commercial solar panels typically pay for themselves in 5 to 10 years, less than half of their warrantied lifespan. Many solar power systems for businesses can payback in less than 5 years with grants and economies of scale.

Government Incentives and Rebates
You may qualify for various incentive and rebate programs that can significantly reduce your solar installation costs. Many federal, provincial, and local programs offer financial benefits to encourage the switch to renewable energy. These savings can make solar more accessible and affordable for homeowners across the country.

FAQs
What is an EnerGuide home evaluation?
One of our NRCan licensed Energy Advisors (EA’s) will visit your home to collect the necessary data and measurements to provide you with a comprehensive report containing an EnerGuide Label, a Homeowner Information Sheet and Renovation Upgrade Report for your home.
What do I need before my evaluation?
A responsible adult (18 years or older) must be present during the evaluation. Your home may not be quallified to be evaluated if it is under renovations at the time of the audit (I.e. drywall, insulation, windows, siding, cabinets, heating/cooling systems, etc).
What is your service area?
We service all of Alberta.
Why in Enbridge Gas no longer accepting new applicants for HER+?
Given the high demand for the program and the number of households that have participated, Enbridge Gas have successfully filled all available spots earlier than expected with regard to the joint funding between Enbridge Gas and the Canada Greener Homes Grant.
I have already completed my pre-retrofit energy assessment, does this update impact me?
For HER+ program, Enbridge Gas is only accepting pre-retrofit energy assessments completed on or before Feb. 5, 2024. If you have a pre-retrofit energy assessment scheduled after Feb. 5, 2024, you do not qualify for HER+ rebates, but you can apply to qualify for HRS rebates.
Does the loan apply to all renovation items?
No. A loan is only applicable to items that are listed in the respective loan program and have been recommended for renovation in the energy advisor’s report.
Can I start the building renovation before registering and applying for the loan and before the pre-renovation energy advisor assessment?
No. You cannot start any work until your loan application has been submitted. Any retrofits started before submitting your application are ineligible. We recommend that you do not start any work before your loan application has been approved. If you choose to begin your retrofits before your loan application is approved, you are responsible for all costs if your application is declined.
If I decide to add more renovation items during or after the renovation, will these items also qualify for the loan?
No. Your loan application must include all retrofits that you plan to complete. Retrofits that are not included in your loan application cannot be added later. Also, if you include retrofits in your application that you later decide not to complete, these will be subtracted from your loan before final funding. The adjusted loan amount must be at least $5,000 to remain eligible.
Are only Canadian citizens eligible to receive this loan?
No. Canadian citizen, permanent resident, or non-permanent resident who is legally authorized to work in Canada, are eligible to receive the loan.
Who do I contact if there are problem with the retrofit contractor I used?
If you encounter any issues or concerns regarding any of the authorized retrofits, upgrades or improvements implemented as part of the HER+, HRS or loan programs, or any issues or concerns regarding the contractor you have hired to implement any such authorized retrofits, upgrades or improvements, you must address such issues or concerns directly with the contractor. Energy Advisor is not affiliated with any such contractor, and is in no way responsible for referring, selecting, or directly contracting with any such contractors.
